Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment
Health and Safety Management System
Our Health and Safety Management System is based on our internal minimum HSE standards and appropriately adapted to the local legislative requirements of the countries where we operate. It is therefore managed at our individual locations. We always ensure sufficient HSE support and oversight regardless of the workshop, office, or construction site size.
Depending on the country and the type of service our various entities offer, we demonstrate competence and the effectiveness of our HSEQ efforts by independent verification appropriate to the activity spectrum. Among others, we hold ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 45001 and SCC certifications within the group.
Occupational Health Services
The occupational health services offered to workers are tailored to the local legislative requirements and the needs created by the type of work. This ranges from medical checks at offices, such as electrocardiograms, eye control, glycaemia, blood tests and psychological screenings, to annual health check-ups for our employees. In locations with workshops or factories, occupational health services are essential. We take great care to have screening and proactive health programs in place, that ensure our workers’ short- and long-term good health.
HSE Training
Training, HSE awareness, and our HSE Culture are at the core of our Health and Safety management approach. The type and frequency of training we provide depend on the entity and the location. Besides legally mandatory trainings, we enforce additional trainings based on an in-depth analysis of each job position. On top of that, we value each person’s potential and create personalised development plans based on identified weaknesses and with an outlook for their future development.
Safety Performance
Many of our employees work in industrial environments, which are characterised by elevated levels of risk, and where just a moment of carelessness or lack of attention to safety guidelines may have fatal consequences for the person in question or others. We benchmark ourselves against our peers in different industries and set clear targets for further reduction of incidents. We analyse every single incident and all high-learning events, formulate concrete actions, and track their adequate implementation.
Christof Integrated Management System: Safety First
With our “Safety First” strategy, we aim to implement an integrated management system for all our entities. The target is zero incidents and no damages or losses for our customers. The HSE performance is regularly reviewed by management in order to continuously improve the aspects of safety, health protection and environmental protection in business practices.
