60 years of Innovative Silo Construction

The combination of continual technical improvements and innovative know-how acquired from years of experience make Doubrava a competent partner for storage and silo technology for bulk material handling industries.

The impeccable quality of our products, the accuracy of our solutions, and our experience in plant construction are the basis for our success across the globe. We plan, design and produce silos with a capacity of up to 3000 m3, as complete facilities, components, welded units, or bolted large volume silos, using standard or bespoke formats.

Welded Standard Silos: Efficient, Value for Money and Durable

Our welded standard silos employ cutting-edge welding techniques and are built to the highest standards of quality. Thanks to Doubrava’s modular system design, our welded standard silos can easily be combined with other components – e.g. with our extensive range of components for automated material flows.

Cone Angle:

  • For coarse materials 50° and 55°
  • For powders 60°

In addition to the following standard sizes, we can also produce bespoke welded standard silos with a diameter of up to 5000 mm.

Advantages:

  • Outstanding durability thanks to high-grade surface coating (sandblasted sheet metal, triple coating)
  • Excellent value for money achieved thanks to optimized production processes and short assembly times
  • Reinforcing pads are used to avoid transport damage
  • Silos with a diameter of up to 2.85 m can be transported without the need for escort vehicles

Uses:

Welded standard silos are an important element in flow management for powders as well as fine and coarse bulk materials in the following applications:

  • Batching, weighing and mixing plants
  • Dry building material plants
  • Concrete plants
  • Cement and lime works

  • Chemical industry
  • Environmental technology

Bolted Large Volume Silos – Segment Silos

Doubrava’s segment silos demonstrate high degrees of precision and robustness in their construction. Individual segments are pre-fabricated in easily transportable sizes and can be transported to construction sites using normal methods.

Lap joints are used to hold the segments together, and all joints can be coated with sealants if required. We are a provider of silos with angled or flat roofs, as well as silos without roofs.

Usable for Powders and Coarse Bulk Materials, such as:

  • Cement, lime, stone meal
  • Different binding materials
  • Gravel, sand and grit
  • Minerals

The discharge height depends on the method of discharge (belt feeder or direct discharge onto a truck).

Bolted Large Volume Silos – Bolted Panel Silos

Our bolted panel silos are an alternative to bolted silos and are built using 1 x 2 m curved panels which are flanged together. The space-saving design of these silos makes them easy and cheap to transport and assemble.

Appropriate for Powders, such as:

  • Cement, lime and stone meal

Advantages:

  • Low transport volumes
  • Transportable even to construction sites that are difficult to reach
  • Easy to re-locate
  • Easy to assemble for local personnel
  • Economic assembly using scaffolding
  • Limited costs for cranes/assembly equipment
  • Smooth internal surfaces
  • Easy replacement of damaged elements

The suitability of using panels instead of segments depends on a variety of factors and must be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Bolted Large Volume Silos – Multiple Chamber Silos

Our multiple chamber silos are used for aggregates in concrete plants as an alternative to multiple welded standard silos where space is limited. Our silos can be implemented for volumes of up to 700 m3 and with up to 10 differently sized chambers.

A highlight of Doubrava’s multiple chamber silos is their compact and intelligent design; the central positioning of the discharge openings makes it possible to fill a hopper scale via batching gates or feeder belts, while steep silo walls ensure that residues are kept to a minimum. Chambers containing poor-flowing materials can be equipped with an external vibrator near the discharge opening.

We can also install connector points for steam and warm air heating systems which prevent freezing. External insulation and corrugated sheet cladding can be added to ensure problem-free operation in the winter months.

Silo Filter Vents: Efficient Removal of Dust – Practically Maintenance-Free

Thanks to their special design, Doubrava’s silo filter vents remove dust simply and efficiently. They are practically maintenance-free.

Doubrava’s silo filter vents are characterized by a design that is shaped by their practical use. They are equipped with built-in sliding doors which do not have to be detached for inspections; this ensures that there are no loose parts that can be lost or dropped during inspection or maintenance work. Dusty air enters a filter bag before passing into the filter casing, which ensures that the filter casing remains free of dust, and that dust cannot escape, even if the casing is no longer airtight.
