Dear customers and partners,
- On 8/3/2020, Corona cases had been reported in 80 countries.
- By 18/3/2020, Covid-19 was active in 169 countries.
- As at 3/4/2020, there had not been any confirmed cases among Christof Industries employees.
We have been preparing our team in Europe to face the Corona crisis since mid-February. The experience gained by our Oschatz unit in China gave us clarity about the important and efficient measures to take.
Our social systems are responding more slowly than the virus is spreading. Our group of companies has implemented targeted preventative measures and we have both a focussed team and a clear plan to protect our ability to work in your countries and at your industrial plants.
Currently (calendar week 13 of this year), Christof Industries teams based in 18 locations and made up of a total of more than 2400 employees are at work across the globe. Of these, a little more than 2100 employees are supporting you as your partners on a total of 71 different construction sites in 13 countries that have been affected by the Corona virus.
All of our employees have remained healthy and have been able to carry out their jobs. The only exception to this rule was the production site CI Oschatz in China, where government-imposed restrictions meant that production was stopped in February and early March. Today, work has re-commenced and lost production during the interruption has been largely compensated.
In our administrative units, we prepared early for the move to home office arrangements; to date, 101 employees have modified employment contracts to facilitate this. We are prioritising employees in high-risk groups and are also taking account of family care duties in our planning.
At Christof Industries, we are doing everything we can to ensure that the environments in which we work are safe and remain so.
A brief overview of the measures we have taken:
On 25/2, we published the first emergency information on our internal information platform and provided a reminder of the behaviours required to avoid being infected by all types of germs. Further HSE messages were provided in the various country units.
On 6/3, we established a new, group-wide Anti-Virus Workforce Team (AVT), to ensure the best possible crisis management for all CI companies.
This team is leading all companies in the Christof Industries Group through the Corona crisis by ensuring:
- The flow of high-grade information,
- The coordination of all communications,
- The production and coordination of a Covid CI Master Plan, which is adapted to suit each country, and
- The central documentation of all measures.
It is clear that during this worrying time – when the virus is spreading – the actions of every individual will have significant consequences for his or her immediate environment, and even for society as a whole. Today, more than ever, each of us is required to question his or her own behaviour and to adapt it to support the containment strategies being employed by all countries to slow the spread of the virus.
It is a time for solidarity!
The closer each individual follows the hygiene recommendations, the safer you – as a customer and a partner – will feel about our services and our products; the safer too is the future of all Christof Industries companies and every single job.
While following all of the precautionary measures, it is important to keep an eye on our current and future projects. We work in a sector that wants its facilities and industrial plants to operate efficiently and without incidents both during the Corona crisis, and after it. Our service and maintenance team is ready to support you.
We are pooling our strength, setting targeted priorities, following hygiene recommendations and guiding each individual employee to do the same.
We are providing every support that we can and appeal for your solidarity!
Your committed Christof Industries Team
