It’s time to get to know another Globe Award winner: Anca Filip! Since it’s International Women’s Month, we want to introduce you to one of our outstanding female figures from our team. Anca is one of our Hidden Champions, and here is why she got this award.
Anca works on our team in Romania as the Head of the Legal Department. She joined Christof Industries in 2016, and since then, she has shown how important it is to be flexible and resilient in times of change. Because of her expertise and commitment, she ensures that complex business topics run smoothly. Anca, we are proud to have you on our team!
Check out the interview we did with Anca to get to know her a little better:
CI: What do you do? What is your role in your team?
AF: I am the Head of Legal for the Romanian Christof companies, out of which three have daily operations: J. Christof E&P Services, JCR Christof Consulting, and Christof MBwell. In this position, I am in charge, among other things, of negotiations with the clients, contract reviews, labor-related issues, Union negotiations, and litigations.
AF: I think of myself as a good listener, and, for me, to be a good listener is equal to getting to know the team, the business activity, and the scope of each project, to really hear their opinions and insights. It’s extremely important when you make an evaluation to understand all aspects in order to identify the real risks and be able to create a mitigation plan to overcome the risks.
CI: What skills does a Head of Legal Department need to have?
AF: The Head of Legal should not be afraid to “go under the microscope,” to see things as they are, to identify the risks, and to take action. It’s very important to inspire trust and confidence in others who will then trust in his insights and judgments and readily follow in his directives.
CI: What’s the most exciting part of your job?
AF: The most exciting part of my job would be that, lately, I don’t get to do the same thing twice. Every situation is unique. The current development of our Romanian companies requires attention to detail and “cat-like reflexes.”
CI: What are you most proud of in your work?
AF: I’m proud whenever I put my efforts into solving an issue, and that issue turns into a success for our business.
CI: What’s something you find challenging about your work?
AF: It’s a great challenge to analyze and identify the legal risks and implications for three companies simultaneously, but I always find the resources to make it work.
CI: What are your most-used productivity hack?
AF: Prioritizing my work as much as I can and respecting my time schedule.
CI: Was there any work-related situation that made you smile or that got you even more inspired at your work?
AF: I feel more and more inspired every time we succeed as a team. I strongly believe that any business can grow when talented, motivated, and strong people join their forces and just begin to create. They start with ideas and finish with amazing strategies.
CI: Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
AF: I love travelling and discovering new corners of the world.
CI: Are you a coffee or tea person?
AF: I’m definitely a coffee person! I have more than 3 coffees per day!
CI: What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
AF: A hammock, a really good book, and a giant box of matches.
Anca, congratulations on your award! Keep inspiring us with your commitment and expertise! Next month, we are going to be back and introduce you to another Globe Award winner. In case you missed last month’s post you can read here our interview with Erik Hoyer. He’s also one of our Hidden Champions.
