Our team focuses on delivering excellent solutions to our clients. In order to guarantee that everything is working how it should be, we take our experts on-site to supervise and deliver the best quality services and solutions.
Today, we want to show you the on-site journey from the perspective of one of our project managers. Erik Hoyer was responsible for delivering our recondOil technology for a SKF-RecondOil project located in Mexico. If you don’t know about this technology, don’t worry, we are going to tell you about it. RecondOil purifies used industrial oil. This way, the same oil is regenerated and can be used over and over again. This technology helps in the development of a circular economy by creating a sustainable use of industrial oil. Our project in Mexico wasn’t the first of its kind, we have already installed similar plants in Germany (SKF Deutschland), Sweden (Rocco Oil Sweden AB), and Spain (SKF Española.)
Let’s check out Erik’s journal. By the way, you can get to know him a little better through this interview.
“As soon as we landed in Mexico, we received a very friendly welcome from our end customer MOT (Molecular Oil Technology). Wherever we needed help, they tried to support us. Once we got used to the Mexican lifestyle and understood how everything works, the assembly process worked quite well.”
Timeline:
- April 29th:
In this photo, we can see the early stage of the technology. The team was levelling and mounting the substructure so that the system is horizontally aligned.
- April 30th:
On the second day, the team started assembling the prefabricated frames (1-3 of 5.)
- May 2nd:
On the third day, the team continued working on the completion of the assembly of the prefabricated frames (4-5 of 5.)
In this photo, you can already see the tanks for the oil. We installed in total 4 tanks (2x sedimentation tank, 2x product tank)
- May 9th:
Here you can see the team completing the installation of the main components.
And if you are wondering if the team had some time to relax and enjoy Mexico, Erik has the answer.
“The following photo impressively shows how the Christof-Family makes the most of international competencies: Eight people from different nationalities enjoying dinner together after hard days on the construction site. (1x Austrian / 2x Slovenians / 2x Serbians / 2x Mexicans / 1x Guatemalan)
Thanks to Mr. Nestler Wolfgang / CSG for this invitation.”
Lendeche Antonio (Electrician), Obal Bostjan (Mechanic), Lara Christian (Mechanic), Hoyer Erik (Project Lead), Kumer Marjan (Fitter), Alfasi Jozsef (Electrician), Nicic Nenad (Welder), Castaneda Henry (Field Supervisor)

“Thanks to Mr. Erik Hoyer (oops, that’s me) for choosing the hotel with a pool (at the same price and quality as the other possibilities).”
- 2nd Sunday:
“Most of us are also interested in culture, so we visited the pyramids of Teotihuacán.
Thanks to Mr. Armin Stein / CIA for making this excursion possible for us.”
“Saludos optimistas desde Querétaro,
Erik Hoyer y compañeros”
One of our automation engineers, Dominik Schneeberger, finished the commissioning support yesterday! The project was a success and now we are looking forward to the next one!
