Meaningful Values That Guide Our Company

The importance that management places on an open and positive relationship with the Group‘s employees can be traced back to the Group‘s origins as a traditional austrian family firm.

This consistency and this reliability ensure the highest degrees of trust and quality, also in our dealings with our customers, some of which we have accompanied for many years.

Our commitment to environmental protection is in no way superficial. It is a
value that has developed in our minds over a period of decades. Our industrial experience has allowed us to develop technologies and generate know-how that
are now contributing to energy efficient solutions and solutions for a stable future.

Our commitment to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible informs both our procurement policy and our operations in general.

Business Ethics

  • Our employees must declare potential conflicts of interest and are prohibited by the terms of their employment from direct or indirect ownership of any enterprise that has a business relationship with us, our customers or suppliers.
  • Our employees may only accept gifts of insignificant value. This includes hospitality within the scope of usual social norms.
  • We are committed to fair, international competition and publicly take a stand against all forms of corruption.

Our Approach to Our Customers and Suppliers

  • Fairness and service characterise our approach to our customers. We focus on their needs and wishes as far as possible.
  • We provide our customers with detailed, truthful and up-to-date information.
  • By adapting the range of services that we offer as well as by providing our employees with ongoing training, we strive to remain abreast of the latest developments and to ensure that we use and offer the most up-to-date technology. This includes for example the use of environmentally friendly devices or alternative technologies.

Our Approach to Our Employees

  • All of our employees receive the same, fair treatment. We do not accept any form of discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, cultural heritage or age.
  • Our dealings in our company with one another are characterised by mutual respect, fairness, and professionalism. The individual personality of each of our employees is taken into account, and, whenever possible, attention is paid to ensuring a stable work-life balance. We consider this to be an essential prerequisite for our employees‘ willingness to deliver consistently at a high level, and therefore as an important element in our company‘s success.
  • Where possible, we support our employees‘ professional and personal development and, together with them, set ambitious, but realistic goals.

Safe Workplaces Free from Accidents

  • We provide our employees with regular training on safe workplaces and the avoidance of accidents. In the course of “Lessons Learned” analyses, we include  and consider cases in which accidents were only narrowly avoided, in order to identify correctly the potential for risk and to “disarm” these dangers in future projects. All safety guidelines must be followed to the letter; the same standards apply to us and to our sub-contractors.
  • The consumption of alcohol and other legal intoxicants and narcotic substances is forbidden during work hours. Violations of this rule are dealt with seriously.
  • In the interests of both preventative health care and workplace safety, we have decided to declare all of our buildings smoke-free.
  • A strict smoking ban applies during the handling of explosives and/or dangerous substances on all of our sites and on sites belonging to customers. Violations of this rule are dealt with seriously.

Sustainable for Future Generations

  • We are careful with resources and, by means of continual technical optimisation, attempt to reduce our consumption ever further, and to lower our emissions as far as possible.
  • We conduct our own research and development in the field of alternative energies, such as waste to energy, combined heat and power, and bio- mass heating, and make use of these systems in our own companies even before they are officially available on the market.
  • We are optimising our purchasing processes, in order to increase further the proportion of recycled materials in new purchases, and to introduce environmentally friendly substances (pickling solutions, lubricants, etc.)
  • We have been separating our waste according to precise categories for a long time, and pass our waste on for recycling via the appropriate channels.

The Principles of the UN Global Compact and Social Responsibility

We have integrated the principles of the UN Global Compact in our Code of Conduct through our commitment to uphold fully human rights, standards at work, environmental protection and the fight against corruption. We expect the same commitment from our internal and external stakeholders.

  • We respect and support the protection of human rights within the limits of our means.
  • We ensure that we do not become complicit in violations of human rights.
  • We respect the right of assembly and the meaningful recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
  • We advocate the elimination of all forms of forced labour.
  • We advocate the abolition of child labour.
  • We advocate the elimination of discrimination during selection and employment.
  • We support a preventative approach to environmental problems.
  • We take initiatives at home and abroad to encourage greater awareness of environmental responsibility.
  • We support the development and spread of environmentally friendly technologies and we are involved in the development of some of these technologies.
  • We take a stand against all forms of corruption.
